“If you’re sitting in this room today and you’re head isn’t exploding with the pace of change in technology, you are not really paying attention…”
This is how Jeff Turner opened his keynote on the topic of real estate and AI at Elite Retreat ‘23.
So, in one sense, I think it’s probably a good thing that my head pretty much has been exploding since November last year.
That means I’m paying attention. Tick.
Sometimes I’m not sure what to do with that, and I assume some of you guys are all in that boat too.
None of us really know how everything will end up, but you’re here, and so that means you are paying attention.
So that’s a big tick for you, too.
There were so many cool takeaways from Jeff’s presentation, but here are just two that I really loved.
The first is the ‘race to intimacy’.
What Jeff means here is creating a deep and trusting relationship with your clients.
The platforms or businesses that can earn the trust of their users to the point where users are comfortable sharing their personal data will be the winners in the AI era.
So leaders need to be laser-focused on building trust - along with using technology to provide better service.
The second is play.
“Play is how we learn as children… Play is your friend, and so I want to encourage you all to play and, at the same time, think about how you will differentiate yourself from an AI or a chatbot”.
This reinforces some of the messages I was giving to folks during Transform 13 about storytelling, solving the human struggle and spending the time you save wisely.
Today’s tool of the day
Hopefully, as I’ve been dishing out fun prompts every weekday for the last … (hmmm.. I think it’s several months now!!!), my great hope is that you’ve been playing with them, testing them and putting your own spin on things.
So today’s tool is a really fun one, it’s something Jeff talked about in his keynote, and it’s called “Hey Pi”.
So click on that link, and just go play.
For my paid subscribers - as always, thank you for supporting this project - I am dropping the video of Jeff’s keynote below, along with an ‘Ask your PDF’ discussion so you can ask questions about the transcript of the keynote (using techniques we have been talking about in some of my other posts this week!)
This might be the next best thing to talking to Jeff in person, but unfortunately, the bot cannot hug you the way Jeff does.
Which, I guess, is the point.
